Max Payne, at times, is a some what striking looking movie and at some points is well directed. An adaptation of the popular video game and starring Mark Wahlberg as the police detective who sets out to find the killer of his wife and child but on the way he uncovers a conspiracy that could lead him to the killer.
Max payne may well boast a great tone, atmosphere and cinematography but pretty much fails in every other department, the acting was average and Mark Wahlberg himself looked bored, the movie was slow and boring and the action scenes where few and far between and when they did come along the slow motion seemed 'extra slow' as if to compensate for the time wasted building up to them.
A disappointing, boring and slow paced movie with some occasional great special effects and good looking action scenes. It's no wonder the movie flopped so badly.
