My excitement for this movie was huge.Especially after sylvester stallones excellent return in Rocky balboa. The opening scenes gave me an indication of how brutal the movie would be.Rambo's presence was somewhat overwhelming as we havent seen him on the big screen for nearly 20 years and the over looking scenery of the jungles were beautiful ,the movie had a glossy crisp feel to it the direction was first class.
The story was simple,a group of voluntary workers want to help and give aid to the sick war torn victims in Burma but get caught by the Burmese army so Rambo is contacted and has to go up river along with a group of mercenaries to save the volunterary workers. I loved the fact that the mercenaries under estimated rambo and treat him as just the boat man to get them up river Until he bursts onto the scene and saves them from a brutal encounter.the film moved at a great pace and there was was plenty of explosions and violence to keep the action fans happy. It gives you a rather realistic and brutal view of what war in Burma may be like and the final 20 mins are just pure classic action and the ending is just fitting and pleasing.
